Some sarcoidosis patients have no symptoms, others have symptoms that are common in other diseases, while other patients present with more serious symptoms. The beginning and ending of symptoms, and their impact and severity, will vary by person. Some symptoms of sarcoidosis may include:
- Shortness of breath
- Wheezing
- Persistent dry cough
- Weight loss
- Night sweats
- Fatigue
- A feeling of discomfort or illness
- Depression
- Chest pain
- Enlarged or tender lymph nodes
- Vision problems
- Burning, itching, tearing eyes
- Blurred vision
- Eye sensitivity to light, seeing black spots, or blurred vision
- Pain and swelling in the hands, feet and ankles
- Nose bleeds
- Swollen, painful joints
- Swelling in the legs
- Abdominal pain and swelling
- Overly dry mouth and throat
- Headaches
- Hearing loss
- Tender reddish bumps on skin
- Skin rashes
- A rash of red bumps on the shins or ankles
- Disfiguring lesions on the nose, cheeks, and ears
- Hair loss
- Kidney stone formation
- Enlarged liver
- Irregular and missed heart beats
- Heart failure
- Hearing loss
- Seizures
- Fainting
- Meningitis
- Psychiatric disorders
